Lila Nikkhah, D.D.S.
Dr. Nikkhah's journey began with a dual passion: science and art. She earned a double major in Biology and Chemistry alongside a minor in Studio Arts from the University of California, Irvine (UC Irvine). This rare combination means she views dental care through both a scientific lens (precision and health) and an artistic one (aesthetics and form). She then earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the prestigious University of Maryland, Baltimore and completed her advanced residency training at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in New Orleans.
Upon moving to New York, Dr. Nikkhah continued to engage in clinical education and public service, including serving as a respected instructor for newly graduated dentists at Montefiore/North Central Bronx Hospital and Jacobi Hospital where she also was instrumental in a groundbreaking effort to establish a dental clinic at both hospitals' Infectious Disease Clinics, providing specialized dental care for HIV patients.
Since co-establishing NG Dental in 2010, Dr. Nikkhah continues to make patient-centered, comprehensive care her primary focus. She believes dentistry is a constantly evolving field and ensures her patients benefit from the most modern techniques available. She continues her education by attending advanced courses in all fields of dentistry. She is a member of the NGS (Northeastern Gnathological society) and is certified in LANAP protocol, a cutting-edge, minimally invasive laser procedure for treating gum disease often leading to faster recovery and less discomfort than traditional surgery.
Dr. Nikkhah's belief in accessible, quality care has driven her to volunteer her skills across the globe providing care to underserved communities in locations including a Native American Reservation at Tuba City, Arizona, as well as internationally in Cambodia, Peru, Kenya, and Israel with organizations like Healing The Children and Dental Volunteers for Israel.
Outside of work, Dr. Nikkhah enjoys biking, skiing, and practicing pottery.
